Petri Rouvinen is research director at ETLA, the research institute of the Finnish economy, and CEO of Etlatieto Ltd (a subsidiary of ETLA). For more than 20 years, he has taken part in consulting and research supporting enterprise, entrepreneurship, innovation, and science policies in Finland. He has also been engaged in several international efforts in these domains at the EU, the OECD, and the World Bank.
Mr. Rouvinen earned his PhD in economics from Vanderbilt University (US) in 2000. In 2004–2005, he was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute (Italy), and in 2010–2011, he was a visiting scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Austria).
Rouvinen's professional interests include digitalization, entrepreneurship, globalization, and innovation. He has published over 20 scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals and has authored or edited 20 books. Rouvinen represents Finland in the global competitiveness programs of IMD and the World Economic Forum.
